She is most famous for her role as Tiana the her first African American princess as Tiana Disney's first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog. The year 2011, Rose was recognized as one of the Disney Legend. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls. Anika noni Rose is an American performer, songwriter and actress. She is best known for the role for Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, the first African American Disney Princess. The Disney Company named her a Legend in 2011. Her other notable roles include her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning Film Dreamgirls (2006) as well as for her role as the character of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner in The Starz series Power. Her name has been praised by her stage performances which include her lead role in Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway for which she received the Tony Award was won for Best Actress in the Musical.
