Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds a distinguished chair in psychology within the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is widely praised for launching the modern science of the eyewitness memory of children as well as using children who have been abused to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and has been honored with numerous international and national prizes. She has consulted with numerous organizations and government officials across the world regarding policies as well as research on child victims in the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as the president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
